Tourism Ministers from Israel, Jordan, Egypt, and the Palestinian Authority are expected to announce their plans to collaborate on the establishment of a permanent forum to promote tourist activity in the region. The four-way alliance had all but fallen apart since the start of the Intifada in 2000. But given the new, post-Gaza-pullout climate, there is a renewal of hope for continued cooperation. Israeli Tourism Minister Abraham Hirchson left Israel Wednesday morning to meet with his four counterparts at an Egyptian resort. "These are the fruits of peace. We will be acting together to show the world we can do business here like anywhere else," said Hirchson.
