The Knesset's Chairman to the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Yuval Steinitz, proposed a bill on Tuesday that would forbid Israeli citizens from filing lawsuits and criminal complaints against Israeli soldiers or anyone involved in anti-terror missions on behalf of the State of Israel. The bill comes in the wake of recent lawsuits and complaints filed in the UK by the Israeli left-wing group Yesh Gvul, against IDF Chief of Staff Major General Dan Halutz and his predecessor Maj. Gen. Moshe Ya'alon, for their involvement in the assassination of a Hamas leader in 2002. Because of the suits, both Halutz and Ya?alon can face arrest if they visit Great Britain.
