On Tuesday night, former Palestinian Authority Interior Minister Hani al-Hassan survived a murder attempt made by masked gunmen firing at him during his visit to Nablus. Hassan managed to escape unhurt. The attempt was followed by a mass resignation by leaders in the Fatah group on Wednesday, signaling problems within the movement.
