Saturday night, the Sderot municipality and the Sha'ar Hanegev regional council announced the suspension of school in the border town of Israel and Gaza on Sunday until further notice due to the precarious security situation. Sderot mayor Eli Moyal had met with the heads of the security establishments in the town and passed on a security analysis that caused the suspension due to the Qassam rockets that landed in Sderot from Gaza on Saturday. They landed on a school, next to a sports center, a factory and a residential building. Injuries were caused by the shrapnel. The rockets fired on Sderot on Friday from Gaza landed in an open field and caused no injuries. Municipality heads are to meet again Sunday to discuss how to further proceed.
