In a discovery of the first of its kind, Bar-Ilan University archaeologist Dr. Gabriel Barklay announced Tuesday a small seal impression that dates back 2,600 years, before the destruction of the First Temple, may prove to be a historic find. The seal, which is less than 1 cm, has three lines of ancient Hebrew on it, thought to be the name of its owner, and may prove to be the only artifact found from the time of King David, predating the destruction of the First Temple in 586 BCE. Barclay, along with a team of young archeologists and volunteers, found the seal in a pile of rubble abandoned by the Islamic Wakf.
