| Palestinian groups have been invited to gather in Cairo to discuss the possibility of extending the current cease-fire with Israel, on behalf of Egyptian Chief Intelligence Officer Omar Suleiman. The truce, which was agreed upon in March, is scheduled to end in late December. The head of Palestinian dialogue on behalf of Fatah, Samir Masharawi, said that most of the factions are interested in holding talks before the end date in December. Meanwhile, senior Islamic Jihad official Muhammad el-Hindi said that the faction would hold talks in late November or early December. |
