On Sunday, Israel Radio reported that the Army is to investigate an incident where a commander ordered a religious soldier to step on tallit -- a prayer shawl -- during a "lesson in values." The commander handed the soldier two sacks and ordered him to put both on the ground and step on them. When the soldier realized one of the sacks held tallit, he went into shock and asked to see an army psychiatrist. He said he should not have been chosen for this particular, "lesson," and was unable to speak for some time after.
