On Sunday, Israeli government sources said that the investigation of the assassination of late Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri will prove embarrassing for Syrian President Bashar Assad and his regime, and will open the opportunity to replace him. United States counterparts have been discussing with Israeli government officials the options for Assad's replacement, while still maintaining Syria's stability.
