On Monday, the IDF released a statement saying that Hamas, in an attempt to gain popularity, is planning to kidnap Israelis and trade them for terrorist prisoners in Israel. Security forces have been on high alert since Monday when the government received over 40 terror threats throughtout the country. According to a report on Israel Radio, big cities Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Be'er Sheva are most at risk with fewer threats for Afula and Hadera. IDF and police forces are boosting security at roadblocks and increasing undercover missions to stop prospective terrorists.
