Late Monday evening, the owner of a Netivot catering hall in southern Israel was arrested on charges of paying his teenage employees only 2 NIS an hour, more than six times lower than the legal minimum wage for their age. The man was also charged with encouraging his 14-year-old workers to steal on his behalf when asked for a higher salary, and awarded his employees with 20 NIS for goods stolen. Haaretz reported the suspect was detained and admitted to charges, and has been put under house arrest.
