Thursday morning, Israeli and Jordanian veterinarians met on the Allenby Bridge border crossing to discuss how to combat the bird flu. At the request of the Jordanians the meeting was held, in an effort to find out what ways Israel is preparing in the case of an outbreak and prevention of a spread to humans. Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom said the object of the meeting is to join forces for plans against the flu, which is expected to spread to the Middle East in the near future.
