Palestine Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has appealed to the French government to halt construction on the new Jerusalem light rail project saying that will run through "conquered territories." Two leading French construction companies, Alstom and Connex, are involved in the project, and Abbas inquired to Chirac to check whether the construction violated the Geneva Convention.
