Arab riots on Mount Scopus, Jerusalem, barred students from leaving the Hebrew University Wednesday evening. The riots occured after an Arab man, who tried to run down a Police officer, was shot and killed. Events began when a car was reported stolen from French Hill and was being moved into Issawiyeh, north of Jerusalem. Riots broke out in front of the Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital and the surrounding area, where the Arab man was being treated for his wounds. Cars in the hospital parking lot were damaged and one was torched. After attempts to restrain the rioters, police fired live bullets into the air and used stun grenades.
