Israel's Defense Minister, Shaul Mofaz, said the Hezbollah attack on the northeastern border throughout Monday afternoon included a kidnap attempt.
"The [Israeli] soldiers spotted four terrorists dressed in black, and moving in an orderly fashion toward the roadblock. Behind them the soldiers noticed jeeps and motorcycles - logistic support for the abduction operation." Lieutenant Colonel Yaniv Elaluf recounted.
Hezbollah gunfire and mortar fire wounded at least 11 soldiers and 1 civilian. Mortar fire seriously damaged a house in Metulla. An Israeli response killed four infiltrators and struck at Hizbullah targets.
