Israeli troops arrested 23 wanted Palestinians in Judea and Samaria overnight, the army spokesman said Thursday.

Twenty Hamas members were arrested in the village of Beit Laqiya, near Ramallah and three other Palestinians in two other areas, the army said.

Israel has pledged to expand its arrest operations in Judea and Samaria following a suicide bombing Monday that killed five Israelis in the coastal city of Netanya. As part of retaliation for the bombing, Israeli aircraft on Wednesday fired a missile at a car in which Palestinian terrorists were traveling in the Gaza Strip, killing one and wounding 10 other people.

The AP contributed to this report.
