One IDF soldier was killed and three were injured in a training accident Thursday where an armored personnel carrier (APC) flipped.
The incident took place on the Shifta artillery-training base in the Negev during a battalion exercise of the "Reshef" regiment.
The army said that the soldier was standing on the back of the APC with his body exposed. The carrier flipped when it crossed a steep slope and crushed the soldier who couldn't make it back inside the vehicle quick enough.
The injured were evacuated to Soroka hospital in Beersheva.
The army said that the victim's family has been notified.
