Police arrested four Nigerians who were trying to slip into Israel across the Egyptian border in the central Sinai peninsula, security official said Sunday.

Steven Shndo, 28, Samuel Omero, 32, Prince Shaba, 40, and Essa Loal, 31 were detained Saturday night while approaching el-Agra border town in Central Sinai accompanied with a group of Egyptian Bedouins, Egyptian police Sgt. Mohammed Sobh said. They apparently were planning to seek work in Israel.

Egypt's long desert border with Israel sees extensive smuggling of people, drugs and contraband.
