The Israeli army distributed evictions orders to eight Jewish settler families in the West Bank city of Hebron on Tuesday, giving them two weeks to leave a market area they took over four years ago, a military official said.
Should the settlers refuse to leave, the army will remove them by force, said Lt. Adam Avidan, a spokesman for the army's Civil Administration branch. "The order ends any chance of them being able to live there legally," Avidan said. "I don't think they will be able to return there in the future." |
