Two Palestinians stabbed and critically wounded an Israeli man Saturday in an attack in the Jerusalem satellite city of Maaleh Adumim, police said.

The 45-year-old man was found bleeding on the street near a geriatric center in the settlement, said police spokesman Shlomi Saguy. Just before he lost consciousness, he told police that two Palestinians had stabbed him and fled, Saguy said.

The stabbing occurred just hours after a new Hamas-dominated Palestinian parliament was sworn in.
