An Israeli aircraft attacked two Palestinians laying a bomb near the Gaza-Israel border fence on Sunday, military officials said. Two militants were killed, Palestinians said.
Palestinian medical officials said the two bodies were recovered in Khouza'a, a border village near the Palestinian city of Khan Younis.
Residents said the two men, ages 18 and 20, were members of the Popular Resistance Committees, a terrorist group that has carried out several deadly bombings on Israeli targets in the past. The resistance committees did not immediately comment on the incident.
The Israeli military officials said the men had been involved in rocket attacks on Israeli targets over the past week. The officials could not be identified under Israeli military regulations.
