Israel's government on Wednesday warned its citizens to stay out of Arab countries, including Israel's neighbors, because of what it called a "continuing recent increase in terrorist activity by the 'world Jihad."'
The statement came from the government's "anti-terror command." It said foreigners and Israelis have been targeted for terror attacks in Arab countries. Therefore, the statement said, "the command is strengthening its current travel warning concerning Arab countries in general and Israel's neighbors in particular, and recommends that Israeli citizens refrain from visits or presence in those countries."
The language of the warning singled out neighboring Egypt and Jordan, which have peace treaties with Israel. |
