Israeli soldiers shot and killed a 15-year-old Palestinian Monday night at the entrance to the Qalandia refugee camp near Ramallah, Palestinian hospital officials said.
The youth, Mohammed Zayad, was shot by Israeli troops after he and two others threw rocks at an Israeli patrol in the area, Palestinian security officials said. The two other youths were wounded by rubber bullets, they said.
The army said it identified two Palestinians attempting to infiltrate through the security fence near Qalandia and opened fire after the two ignored calls to stop.
The army said soldiers attempted to offer medical treatment to the wounded but were met with violent resistance. |
