Israeli troops shot and killed on Monday an armed Palestinian who opened fire on forces along the Israel-Gaza border, the army and Palestinian officials said.

The troops identified an armed man nearing the border, the army said. Soldiers shot him after he opened fired at them, the army said. Palestinian officials confirmed finding the body.
