Israeli undercover soldiers killed a Palestinian terrorist in the Judean town of Bethlehem on Sunday, Palestinians said, ambushing his car in the center of the town.
Witnesses and Palestinian security officials said a plainclothes unit of Israeli soldiers opened fire on the car near Palestinian security headquarters, killing the terrorist and arresting two others in the car. They belonged to the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, a terrorist group associated with the Fatah movement headed by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
The Israeli military said the terrorist died when soldiers opened fire on his car, which crashed and burst into flames.
Israeli forces carry out frequent arrest raids in Palestinian towns and villages in Judea and Samaria.
