Third-seeded Shahar Peer of Israel beat Kaia Kanepi of Estonia 6-3, 6-0 to reach the final of the Prague Open on Saturday.
Peer will play fifth-seeded Samantha Stosur of Australia, who beat No. 7 Peng Shuai of China 6-1, 6-3.
"I was very happy with the way I was playing," Peer said. "I'm waiting for the final. I hope to do well."
The final will be Peer's second of her career. She won her first in February at Pattaya City, Thailand.
Stosur, the world's top-ranked doubles player, has yet to win her first singles championship.
It will be her third carer final, and first on clay. Until this week, she hadn't passed the quarterfinals in a clay event.
Peer beat Stosur 6-1, 6-3 on clay at Amelia Island, United States, last year in their only meeting. |
