A missing 62-year-old man that Palestinian militants claimed to have kidnapped was found dead of natural causes, Israeli police said Thursday.

Noach Moskovitch's body was found near the cemetery in his hometown of Rishon Lezion, said Micky Rosenfeld, a police spokesman. Forensics experts were examining the body, but it appeared Moskovitch died as a result of an illness, Rosenfeld said.

Palestinian militants have in the past five days kidnapped an Israeli soldier and killed a Jewish settler abducted in the West Bank.
