Israel on Wednesday warned its citizens not to travel to the Sinai peninsula in Egypt due to intelligence information that a terror attack there is imminent.
Israel's counterterrorism department also warned Israelis traveling in Turkey not to leave their hotels for fear of attacks. Three people were killed in a bombing by Kurdish militants in Antalya, Turkey on Monday.
Acting on concrete information that militants plan attacks in Sinai, the department instructed Israeli tourists to stay away from their favorite vacation area or leave the area immediately.
More than 120 people have been killed in a string of terror attacks in the Sinai since 2004. |
