Around 3,000 people took part in a pro-Israel demonstration in the Swiss capital Bern Saturday, calling on the government to defend the Jewish state's right to exist and support its fight against terrorism.
Waving Swiss and Israeli flags, the demonstrators rallied peacefully in support of Israel and against anti-Semitism.
A resolution put forward by 20 pro-Israel organizations urged the government and parliament to support Israel's unconditional right to exist and to refuse negotiations with any terrorist groups that oppose this. The document also petitioned lawmakers not to let economic considerations interfere with Switzerland's democratic values. |
