Palestinians say man killed by army near Nablus -- IDF denies knowledge

A Palestinian man was shot and killed Sunday afternoon on his way to break the Ramadan fast with family, relatives said.

Ahmed Yousef Tirawi, 25, was walking with his wife on a path off limits to Palestinians when soldiers fired a single bullet to his head, killing him, relatives said. Israeli media said he was circumventing an Israeli checkpoint.

The army said it was unaware of any shooting incident in the area and its forces had not opened fire.

During the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, faithful fast during the daylight hours and have a festive meal after sundown.
