It rarely snows in Israel. Maybe once a year. But this year, for one of the first times in modern memory, it's coming down for the second time within a month. The plows are ready, the kids are ready for a day off, but for this evening, you get to see it (if you're lucky) pelting the Kotel, western retaining wall of the Temple Mount, the holiest site in the Jewish faith.
The Kotel's webcam is on! (Hope that the snow still is!)
Update Tuesday morning: Well, the snow has ended, probably for good, but we'll leave this link up for your viewing pleasure! Winter in Jerusalem...
Snow blanketed the streets and school and univiersity classes were called off.
In the Golan Heights, there was heavier snow, and Israel is expected to get a ski season after all.
