Anti-expulsion protesters blocked the Ayalon freeway in Tel Aviv, snarling 8 am rush hour traffic north and south. Demonstrators stood on the highway between the Rokach and Halacha exits and burned tires. Irate rivers left their cars to confront protesters. Police arrested 8. The action caught police, focused on expected Jerusalem protests, unprepared. Traffic flow was mostly restored after about an hour.
