IDF Nahal Brigade forces raided the Palestinian military intelligence headquarters in Ramallah early Wednesday morning and arrested 18 wanted Fatah and al-Aqsa Brigades fugitives.

The IDF says these fugitives were the perpetrators of dozens of attacks on Israeli civilians and soldiers, as well as attempted kidnappings. The fugitives often used the compound for shelter.

The IDF had asked the Palestinian security forces not to provide the suspected terrorists with shelter on several occasions, but their requests were ignored and the Fatah-affiliated terrorists continued to use the compound.

According to eyewitnesses, IDF jeeps surrounded the building where the wanted fugitives were hiding and fired stun grenades, calling on them to surrender. The forces then entered the compound and arrested the 18 wanted men, Palestinian security officials reported.

No injuries were reported.

According to The Jerusalem Post, one of the men arrested in the raid was Khalil Shilo, a member of Al Aksa Martyrs' Brigades. Shilo has been a wanted man since the start of the second intifada, in 2000.

IDF officials reported that, in addition to seizing the 18 fugitives troops found weapons, including guns, grenades and pipe bombs, and equipment such as IDF-issue bullet-proof vests, in the course of the raid.
