The IDF denied allegations that it took part in the kidnapping of a senior Hamas militant, Mohawah al-Qadi, who was involved in the abduction of Gilad Schalit over one year ago, according to the Jerusalem Post. However Hamas claims that Israeli troops dressed as Hamas' paramilitary police force kidnapped al-Qadi in an undercover raid on Saturday.

"A special Zionist force wearing Executive Force uniforms entered George Street in eastern Rafah in a civilian Subaru car and then headed towards the Sufa crossing" with Israel, Hamas's armed wing, the Izzadine al-Kassam Brigades, said in a statement.
The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) would not comment on the operation.

Hamas said the kidnapping took place over two kilometers from the Gaza security fence and in an area known to be a hotbed of Hamas gunmen.

Meanwhile, the IDF detained a Palestinian teenager at a checkpoint near Nablus on Sunday who was carrying three pipe bombs to be used in a suicide bombing in Tel Aviv, Ynet reported.

According to reports, the boy was to pass the explosives to the suicide bomber on the other side of the checkpoint, who would then carry out an attack within the next 24 hours.

Israel is on high alert ahead of the holidays, IDF officials say, because terror organizations, like Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the PFLP and Fatah are stepping up efforts and even collaborating to launch attacks on Israel during the holiday season.

In related news, IDF soldiers allegedly shot and killed a Palestinian teenager who approached the Karni Checkpoint in the northern Gaza Strip carrying a firearm.

According to Palestinian sources, the 19-year-old, Ramzi Hiles, was hunting fowl when he approached the border fence area and was shot by an IDF sniper, bleeding to death from a gunshot wound to his thigh.
