Thousands turned out in the courtyard of the yeshiva (Flash90)

The victims of the massacre at Jerusalem's Mercaz Harav yeshiva are laid to rest Friday morning. The murdered youths ranged in age from 15 to 26. Thousands of people gathered on Friday in Jerusalem to march in a funeral procession for the eight who were gunned down by an Arab terrorist. The procession left the Mercaz Harav Yeshiva at 10 A.M. and continued on to the victims' communities for burial.

The massacred students and their hometowns are:

. Segev Pniel Avihail, 15, of Neve Daniel
. Neria Cohen, 15, of Jerusalem
. Yonatan Yitzhak Eldar, 16, of Shilo
. Yonadav Haim Hirshfeld, 19, of Kohav Hashahar
. Yohai Lifshitz, 18, of Jerusalem
. Doron Tronoh Maharata, 26, of Ashdod
. Avraham David Moses, 16, of Efrat
. Ro'i Roth, 18, of Elkana

The police have recovered the vehicle of the Jerusalem Arab, an Israel citizen who worked as a delivery man and used his car to drive to the Jerusalem yeshiva Thursday night, March 6, with his Kalashnikov assault rifle and other weapons. The car was found to contain a large stock of ammunition.

Security forces and emergency services are on national terror alert. The West Bank is under closure. Security services and police are hunting the planners of the attack after imposing a blackout on the investigation. Police are on guard for the tension in Jerusalem sparking angry clashes between Jews and Arabs. Men under 45 were barred from Muslim Friday prayers on the Temple Mount.

The UN Security Council emergency session broke up Thursday after Libya blocked a resolution condemning the terrorist attack by demanding that Israel's operation in the Gaza Strip be added. The US delegate refused the compromise, and was backed by Russia.

Palestinians celebrated the massacre in Gaza and the West Bank, crowding into the streets, shooting guns in the air and handing out candies.
