Three IDF soldiers were killed and two others were wounded early Wednesday after being ambushed by heavy fire from Palestinian gunmen while patrolling the Gaza border.

Palestinians reported that six people were killed during IDF operations in Gaza. Four were Hamas men, one was an Islamic Jihad regional commander.

An additional ten people were killed late Wednesday afternoon in an IDF strike in the Al Burayj refugee camp in the central Strip. The Palestinians claim that at least two of the victims were children, but most of the dead were members of the "Army of the Nation". The IDF has yet to issue a response on the strike.

17 people were reported wounded, several seriously.

Fresh exchanges of fire between armed Palestinians and IDF troops near Khan Younis have also been reported.

Meanwhile nine Qassam rockets were fired into Israel on Wednesday afternoon from northern Gaza, bringing the total to 19 projectiles fired since the morning. Several caused property damage but there were no injuries reported.
