A man was killed and three others injured after two mortar shells hit the western Negev kibbutz of Kfar Aza Friday evening. One mortar landed near a house and a second near a community hall in the kibbutz, causing damage to a building.
Jimmy Kedoshim, 48, had stepped out of his house to work in the garden when he took a direct hit from a shell. A kibbutz veteran and reserve paratrooper, Jimmy Kedoshim -- who ran an aerial advertising business -- is survived by a wife and three children.
Palestinian attacks also injured three Israelis, including a serious injury to a soldier.
A Magen David Adom rescue crew summoned to the scene pronounced Kedoshim dead following attempts to resuscitate him.
Rocket fire by Palestinian terrorists into Israel has continued all week. 14 Qassam rockets hit the western Negev on Tuesday, though there were no injuries or damage reported. On Saturday, more than a dozen rockets fell on the area, including hits near a synagogue and a school. None were injured in these attacks.
Israel mounted a reprisal aerial attack on Hamas bases, killing five members of the terror organization. |
