A army force of more than a thousand army and police, many in full riot gear, have burst into the main synagogue in Kfar Darom by force. Hundreds of people are inside and on the roof.

Water cannons and cranes are being positioned to remove those on the roof by force.

Dozens of black-shirted Yasamniks are inside with riot gear, confronting those inside, the men sitting on the floor undernear the ark containing the torah scrolls.

All is being screen on live television. Male policeman are preparing to expel several dozen women, teen-aged girls and small children and babies, and policewomen are expected to arrive.

Containers containing troops are being lifted to the roof, but there is serious concern that the roof could collapse.

About 300 people remain on the roof, and forces are trying to land on it. A bus appears to be on fire.

Expulsion forces in riot gear quickly removed protesters and residents inside the synagogue.
Removing the protesters on the roof took longer and required the police to descend from containers onto the roof, where they were met with demonstrators throwing on them color, food and oil.

Police claimed that "acid" was spilled on the expulsion forces, but the allegation was rejected by a medical expert who examined the substance.

Yediot Ahronot reported that Dr. Mati Lifshitz, a poison specialist at Soroka Hospital, said the material spilled on expulsion forces was an unidentified but harmless substance that caused at most itching and allergic reactions. "The substance does not cause other harm. We're not about an acid of a type that causes burns," he explained.
