Two Palestinians killed in clashes with Israeli forces on Gaza border

Israeli soldiers killed two Palestinians and wounded five others Wednesday in two clashes on the border fence between Gaza and Israel, Palestinian hospital officials said.

Palestinian security officials said the in the first incident, A Palestinian policeman was killed and three wounded by an Israeli tank shell.

Tank and gunfire continued in the area. An hour later, another Palestinian was killed and two wounded, including a child, the officials said.

The Israeli military said in the first incident, three suspicious figures approached the border fence near the Israeli village of Nahal Oz, and soldiers opened fire, hitting them.

Israel Army Radio reported that the three were apparently trying to reach a bomb planted along the fence.
