Palestinian shot in overnight Gaza clash dies, bringing death toll to four
By Associated Press  June 8, 2006

A Palestinian militant wounded by Israeli army fire overnight died of his injuries Thursday morning, bringing to four the number of people killed in the shooting on the Gaza-Israel border, including a policeman hit by a tank shell, Palestinian hospital officials said.

Israel said troops on the border spotted three people crawling toward the border fence after dark and the military opened fire from tanks, infantry and aircraft. The Palestinian hospital officials said the policeman and three militants were killed by the fire and four people wounded, among them a seven-year-old child.
