Palestinian rockets hit Ashkelon on heels of Sderot attack
By Associated Press November 15, 2006
Palestinian militants fired four rockets on the coastal city of Ashkelon on Wednesday, attacks that could affect the scope of the Israeli military's response to another, deadly rocket attack on southern Israel earlier in the day.
The army said no one was injured.
Ashkelon is the farthest point north that Palestinian rockets have reached. Although the attack Wednesday on the city was not the first, the latest rocket fire could prompt the military to escalate its attacks on Palestinian rocket squads who killed a civilian in the town of Sderot early in the day.
