Qassam blasts ceasefire for 7th time as IDF mulls Judea and Samaria truce
By Israel Insider staff and partners  December 3, 2006

Another Qassam rocket landed Sunday morning near a kibbutz in the western Negev. It exploded in an open field and no one was injured nor was any damage done.

This was the seventh rocket to be fired into Israel from the Gaza Strip since the ceasefire was declared, just one week ago. Israel continues to restrain itself and is not responding to the shooting, and this has indeed been one of the more quiet weeks to pass on the southern residents in the recent months.

The security cabinet convened Sunday to discuss the fragile calm, and to discuss Israel's responses to further firing. It decided to continue the "restraint" policy in Gaza, but decided not to extend the ceasefire to Judea and Samaria (the "West Bank"). It has not yet been officially announced, but the Israel Defense Force has reduced activity in the area.

Nonetheless, the IDF continues to arrest wanted suspects from time to time.

Saturday night six wanted suspects were arrested: in Ramallah a Tanzim activist, in Bethlehem area two Fatah associates, and in Hebron area three Hamas activists.
