The 'Rabbi' Who Dishonors the Dead

A true rabbi does not dishonor his family and endanger his people. Nor does any good Jew. Or a good Christian, Muslim, Buddhist or atheist.

But Yisroel Dovid Weiss is no rabbi, though he holds that title as head of the Neturei Karta sect in Monsey, Rockland County. He disgraced his position, family, people and all humanity when he rubbed shoulders with the likes of David Duke and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the president's Holocaust denial conference.

Weiss actually doubts the extent of the Holocaust, but he primarily joined Ahmadinejad's assembly of the deranged because he believes that the time has not yet arrived for the creation of a Jewish state. The New York Daily News quoted him from a 2003 interview: "Zionism is an apostasy, it is a rebellion against God, and a rebellion against the Torah, it is blasphemous."

Weiss's participation in this meeting of the mindless aids and abets Ahmadinejad's obvious plan to destroy Israel with a nuclear device. He brought together Weiss and 66 other mental derelicts to deconstruct the Holocaust in order to delegitimize the state of Israel.

If Weiss is indeed Jewish, he is endangering the lives of 5.3 million of his people. Furthermore, the loss of the national Jewish homeland could cripple the ability of the Jewish people everywhere else to prosper or even survive. Not one of the Orthodox groups in Monsey, N.Y., including Neturei Karta, can expect a reprieve from the Jewish los of influence.

What makes Weiss's actions even more disgusting is the disgrace he brought onto the memory of his grandparents, victims of the Holocaust. They were murdered at Auschwitz. The shame was compounded when he minimized the deaths of his grandparents, as quoted in The News, "We don't want to deny the killing of Jews in World War II, but Zionists have given much higher figures for how many people were killed. They have used the Holocaust as a device to justify their oppression."

Weiss and his black-robed partners have appeared at anti-Israel rallies in the United States before, but even then they resembled a comic scene from a Mel Brooks satire. Now that Weiss and associates have been photographed with Ahmadinejad, they have reached a new, frightening level.
