Four possible truths about our leaders
By Marylou Barry   January 14, 2007

At least four conflicting theories about what's REALLY going on with our leaders have emerged from the incongruous mess that is American and Israeli foreign policy. You can choose from the following viewpoints or construct your own.

1. THE MEDIA IS RIGHT. U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has been more than helpful in her counsel to Prime Minister Olmert on how to relate to the Muslim enemy. The prime minister means well but is limited by his background as a humble attorney and mayor of a medium-sized city. Also, he places too much trust in leftist advisors like Shimon Peres. President Bush is a bit of a bumpkin, too, but well intentioned and certainly a devout Christian. After all, he reads the Bible every morning. So just write him; he values the opinions of those who put him into office. (If you buy anything of theory number one, I've got a bridge I would like to talk to you about. Cash offers only.)

2. THE LIBERALS ARE RIGHT. It really IS all about oil. The hierarchy here is obvious: Olmert serves Condi, Condi serves Bush, Bush serves Abdullah, and Abdullah serves the evil one who just wants us all dead, both physically and spiritually. But they'll take their cuts of the oil profits first, thank you. All except the evil one, that is. He'll settle for destroying whatever shreds of integrity these people came into office with, until no likeness at all to their Creator remains within them. Oh, and the plan for protecting our populations from Iranian nukes? There is no plan.

3. THE CONSPIRACY NUTS ARE RIGHT. There really is something to the New World Order speech George H.W. Bush delivered before a joint session of Congress on September 11, 1990. The Skull and Bones Society is not a fluke. The United Nations really intends to divide the world into 10 economic zones based on the European Union, and America really will become the North American Union by 2010. The purpose of the Gaza withdrawal was to geographically separate Jews from Arabs so that Israel can cream Gaza in the coming war without hitting its own. Then the NWO will stand by while the remaining Arabs and the Israelis cream each other, leaving more habitat for endangered species and old-growth forests.

4. NOBODY IS RIGHT. The U.S. still allies itself strongly with Israel, and anything else you hear is disinformation. Ehud Olmert is not disloyal or stupid; he is playing the role of patsy and doing it very well. What do you think the Big Secret Base near Ben Gurion Airport is for? Why the sudden build-up ("surge") in U.S. troop activity in the Middle East? Are additional personnel and the new U.S.S. Stennis taskforce really there because of Iraq? Or is this a Trojan horse to get the U.S. military as close as possible to Iran for a surprise attack? Olmert and Bush know they have just one shot left before Iran gets nukes, and they know they better not blow it.

Which theory will prove correct? I honestly don't know. But we probably all will know by the end of the year.
