Absurdity Heights, Palestine
By Bob Westbrook   September 8, 2003

The maneuverings in the nonsensical non-state of Palestine are reaching new heights of absurdity. After Yasser Arafat succeeding in undermining the "Prime Minister" Abbas, he designated "Abu Ala" (Ahmed Qureia) as his latest puppet PM. Shortly thereafter, the Fatah Central Committee rubber-stamped this appointment.

For those not well-informed about the machinations of Palestinian terror organizations, that last phrase may not be significant. But Fatah, an organization with much Jewish blood on its hands, founded many years ago by Arafat, Abbas, Qureia, and others, is an organization with one goal: the "liberation" of "Palestine." This means a Palestinian state where Israel now exists.

But now this same Fatah has been granted legitimacy as a government agency. What is so extremely absurd about Fatah being involved in any kind of government processes is this Fatah currently has active terrorist wings! Fatah factions Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades and the Tanzim, still carry out regular, brutal attacks against Israel.

USA Today interviewed Maslama Thabet, a leader of the al-Aqsa brigades, on March 14, 2002. He stated, "The truth is, we are Fatah itself, but we don't operate under the name Fatah. We are the armed wing of the organization. We receive our instructions from Fatah. Our commander is Yasser Arafat himself."

The PLO, and PA, and PLC, and Fatah, are all part of a sham, a huge con game. While they talk about the "peace process", they are actively involved in terror. The very organization that has now approved Abu Ala as Prime Minister is one that blows up Israeli buses.

And yet international political leaders, knowing well the mad facts of this sham, continue to play along with the pretense. Their precious "peace process", which is nothing more than a poorly disguised plot to steal as much land as possible, takes precedence over any sense of truth or propriety. By tactics of intimidation and threat, they force Israel to play along as well.

The truth is that whoever is leader of the Palestinians is now largely irrelevant. Terror as a lifestyle and hatred as a mindset have been so carefully cultivated by Arafat for years, so well-imbedded into Palestinian society, that it has become a culture of terror. If Arafat was the first virulent cell of a deadly virus that has now infected the entire body with a raging, incurable disease, removing that first cell will have no curative effect whatsoever.

The idea that the Palestinian people should just choose better leaders, and all will be well, is illogical. The Palestinian people want the kind of leader that Arafat is. He represents them well. Efforts by the United States and others to put a friendlier face on the Palestinian Authority, to keep the absurd "peace process" going as long as possible, will all end in failure.

The Palestinians hate Israel, and want the Jews to leave the Holy Land and go back to wherever they came from. Until Israeli leaders grasp this reality, and let go of the absurd notions regarding Palestinian leadership, they will not be able to formulate a realistic solution to this ugly problem of terror.
