Should Kuntar walk free in exchange for news of Arad's murder?
By Jan Willem van der Hoeven   September 21, 2004

Can one fathom the sheer moment of horror and unspeakable anguish that the parents of 4-year old Einat went through when terrorists, led by the bitterly cruel Samir Kuntar, crossed in 1979 into Northern Israel from Lebanon, murdered in cold blood the pretty 4-year old Einat by smashing her tender head, by holding her by her legs, against a rock on the Nahariya beach?

While her helpless horrified father, held by Kuntar's fellow terrorists, was forced to watch this gruesome act before they killed him too. In the meantime Smadar, his wife, and their two year-old daughter were hiding in a closet where out of fear to be revealed, Smadar, the mother, tried to smother the cries of her 2 year old daughter Yael. In her sheer panic she didn't realize she had thus suffocated her own child.

Though Samir Kuntar perpetrated these unbelievably despicable acts of murder, he has been allowed by the Israeli authorities to receive several women, purportedly his wives, while in prison to have sex with them.

Now, after all that this vile and hate-filled murderer has done, he is apparently going to get his freedom back by Israel in return for information about the Israeli navigator Ron Arad, whose fate and whereabouts have been withheld from Israel during more that 20 years.

If and when the Israeli government, and especially the already tortured Arad family, will get some information from Israel's sworn enemies, they in return may release this vicious murderer (and others with him). This information may be just that Ron Arad, after a period of intense torture was killed -- end of story! Is Israel, for such information, willing to let the vicious murderer of the Haran family free to enjoy his life even more than he has been allowed already, returning to Lebanon as a national hero?
