Remembering Auschwitz, preparing for expulsion
By Moshe Feiglin   February 9, 2005

On Sivan 17 (January 27, 2005), the U.N. held a special session to mark the anniversary of the day on which the Factory for the Murder of Jews stopped working.

Israeli Foreign Minister Sylvan Shalom spoke there, very emotionally. Swearing that it would never happen again, the minister was overcome by the shame that was displayed in the international condemnation of anti-Semitism.

World leaders then visited the camp itself. After hearing President Katzav's emotional speech, they received medals of honor from representatives of the Jewish people.

It was strange to hear the French President speaking in the UN against anti-Semitism. In fact, why should this organization, anti-Semitism forming the core of its existence, care so much about the liberation of Auschwitz?

We saw a respected rabbi place a ribbon of honor around the neck of Russian President Putin. Just a week earlier, Putin announced his decision to sell the Syrians sophisticated ground-to-ground missiles that the Arrow missile will be unable to intercept, missiles capable of spreading nerve gas on the Jews of Tel Aviv. (But why let poisonous facts spoil the splendid demonstration of international support?)

What is happening here? Why do they suddenly love us? Why are we giving in so easily to the wolves who are smiling at us between (sound)bites?

And what is the connection between this Shoah show of shame and the planned expulsion of the Jews of Gush Katif?

The world has adopted a Western (that is, Christian) mentality. Anti-Semitism is fundamental to Christianity, but to implement a program of anti-Semitism, the modern Christian needs a strong Jew as a target.

Christians abandoned the option of combining spirit and matter in this world. For them, this world is the world of sin. To aspire to something better, it is necessary to divorce oneself from the material world and its pleasures. The peak of Christian virtue is reached through privations.

Christian-based Western culture has abandoned man's ability to achieve justice in this world, replacing that unattainable moral criterion with the virtue of wretchedness. Christians love the weak. The suffering, weaker person is always perceived to be in the right.

In Auschwitz it is easy to see who is strong and who is weak. The weak ones are the Jews whom we hate above all, so we won't make too great an effort to halt the wheels of the death factory. We'll let the Germans do the dirty work and shake our heads in Christian self-righteousness about the fate of the god-murderers who were sentenced to suffer until the end of time.

There is a major contradiction here because the Jews are the weak ones in the story, thereby deserving love and compassion. Yes, Auschwitz presents difficulties for them.

But Israel is something else! The moment we left the crematoria, the moment we overcame our enemies and started playing the role of the strong ones in the story, we exposed our vulnerable flank. According to Western/Christian values we have to be the weak ones. If you ask why they suddenly love us so much, the simple answer is that they love us -- dead.

Because of this incomprehensible hypocrisy, the next question that can be asked is: why do we give in so easily? Why are the Israelis in such a hurry to cooperate with these wolves in sheep's clothing?

The new Jew that the leaders of Zionism tried to create in Eretz Yisrael was supposed to have discarded his old Jewish identity and become an Israeli. As the new Israeli adopted modern Western values, those of Christianity, his greatest aspiration become to be accepted into the family of nations. But the nations of the world reject the "Israeli" and unceremoniously return him to the Jewish identity that he wished to abandon. Israel can enter the family of nations only by way of wretchedness, that is, through the gates of Auschwitz.

So we'll cooperate with the wolves in sheep's clothing, and they will accept us into the family of nations (for a few hours) and we will give them moral recognition (forever).

That's the deal.

And what has all this to do with the expulsion of Jews from Gush Katif?

As part of the propaganda broadcasts that are preparing public opinion for the perpetration of the crime, Israeli TV -- Channel 2 showed a lieutenant colonel from the Golani Infantry Brigade, large kippah on his head, preparing his soldiers for the expulsion of Jews. "Refusal to obey orders will cause the destruction of the Third Temple," the religious officer explained. "We shall carry out the order in full, but with great sorrow, and with tears in our eyes!"

This religious Golani Brigade officer doesn't understand the perverted morality motivating him. He could give the Pope a few lessons in Christianity. It doesn't matter how great the crime, but only how it appears, even if it involves outright robbery of homes and the exile of entire Jewish communities.

The connection between the hypocrisy of the world in Auschwitz, the cooperation by Jewish leaders in the UN-backed ceremony, and the expulsion of the Jews of Gush Katif -- lies in blind acceptance of Christian morality and values.

To leave the gates of Auschwitz, we must leave this slavery to perverted values and adopt the values of Jewish liberty.

Only this can free Am Yisrael, and prevent the expulsion of Jewish people and the armed robbery of Jewish homes and land in Eretz Yisrael.
