Anti-Zionism is Anti-Semitism (and very unhealthy for the world)
By Harry W. Weber   November 15, 2005

In the wake of the most recent declaration of the president of Iran that Islam's main goal is the utter destruction of the State of Israel and for the world to be without Zionism, it's time to briefly re-examine the root of anti-Semitism and its modern equivalent, anti-Zionism.

Ever since Gods Revelation to the Israelites on Mount Sinai and His giving of the Laws to them, as His moral emissaries in this world, the non-Jewish world has been on an "anti-mission" -- a mission of hatred and destruction of the very people God chose to bring truth, justice and morality to the world.

The vast majority of the world's gentiles deeply resent the Jews for being their moral mentors and for rebuking their immoral behavior. That, and not any of the other excuses -- such as Jews' purported greed, ostentatiousness, "excessive" business acumen, disproportionate political and economic power -- is the real bottom line reason for anti-Semitism -- hatred of the Jews.

Admittedly, no one likes to be made to feel that he is morally inferior, that less is expected of him if he is not a member of an "exclusive" club, even if that club is open to anyone sincere in his desire to become a member. So instead of attacking the source -- God -- anti-Semites have embarked on a war against the Jews, God's messengers, starting even before the Revelation -- 3,317 years ago.

When God punished the Israelites for failing their very demanding moral mission, the haters quickly seized the opportunity to set up "new" religions, based on a theory that the immortal God had somehow decided to breach his covenant with them and establish new covenants with the "New Israelites."

For two thousand years the theory that God had abandoned his children and cast them out of their homeland to wander throughout the world as strangers had seemed to have been empirically vindicated. The sad lot of the Jews justified in the gentiles' minds their abominable treatment of the Jews. The gentiles were doing, they claimed, God's will. Another excuse for the two thousand year old witch-hunt against the Jews was the idiotic claim that the Jews were guilty of "deicide" -- killing the "Lord Jesus Christ" -- not realizing the utter theological lunacy of such a charge.

The theological basis for the superiority of the gentile religions took a severe blow in 1948 -- the year Israel was reborn as the home of the Jews. If the Jews had a state, and a politically, economically and technologically successful one to boot -- what does that say about the "theory of replacement" -- that Christians and Moslems replaced the Jews as God's children?

Tremendous worldwide resentment against the Jews began to foment ever since 1948. Yet, it was only a few years after the Christian world committed the greatest act of genocide the world has ever seen -- the systematic, scientific, premeditated, conspiratorially executed murder of six million Jews. The Mark of Cain was on the entire Western World -- firstly on Europe where the killings took place, without any protest to speak of, and secondly, on the United States, the world's leading democracy and super power, which stood idly by knowing full well the horrendous magnitude of the mega murder. So in 1948, it was still politically incorrect to betray blatant anti-Semitism, or any sort of anti-Jewish sentiment.

The gentile world had to wait nineteen years for the excuse to jump start its historic vitriolic anti-Semitism where it had left off -- in 1945. 1967 was the year that Israel's Arab neighbors decided to eliminate the young Jewish state. Yet, despite their best efforts to snuff out the renascent state, Israel conquered all the territory that had been its birthright over three millennia ago in the deed given it by none other than God himself.

Not being able to defeat Israel on the battlefield, the Arabs and all the other Jew haters embarked on a media war of unprecedented proportions. In almost every nation on the face of the earth, the media began to spew lies, lies and more lies that Zionism is racist, that the Jews of Israel are colonialist foreign elements depriving the Palestinians (a people no one ever heard of before 1967) of their national rights. Goebbels would have been proud of all his students throughout the world -- from Western Europe to Africa, Asia and Latin America. The big lie about Israel has become the global media's number one obsession, and number one news story every day ever since the Six Day War in June 1967. Nothing can explain this fixation, this total rewriting of the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict, other than blatant, unabashed anti-Semitism! Since attacking the Jews on religious and ethnic grounds is only acceptable in the Moslem world, other gentiles love to take a more ?genteel? route -- attack Israel, Zion -- not Jews per se.

Lest anyone misunderstand the situation -- the recreation of a Jewish state in the place of its ancient homeland has been the dream and religious goal of Jews for two thousand years. And why? Because more than half of the 613 divinely ordained commandments that obligate the Jewish people are dependent on their living in the Land of Israel. Depriving authentic Jews of their right to a Jewish state is tantamount to destroying them.

No one has a claim to the Land of Israel other than the people of Israel. Anyone the least not familiar with the Bible knows that only anti-Semites, engaged in sick convoluted mental and historic gymnastics, can come up with any justification for claiming that Israel does not have the sole legal and divine right to the land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.

Today, the world had better accept the fact that its well-being is dependent on the thriving of the Jewish state in all of its historic territory. Anything less will be in direct opposition to the will of God, and as such, a cause of great suffering to all the people of the world.
