Israel has devolved into a land where the majority not only accepts domination and abuse but actually invites it.
The Israeli silent majority would rather have the U.S. tell them what to do even after their consistent record of failure -- Oslo to Wye to Tenet to Mitchell to Zinni -- and now the fatal blow, President Bush's Road Map.
Why do Israelis put so much trust in incompetence and failure?
They allow their enemies to kill them with impunity and without let-up, protesting softly like the willing whore who just can't say no anymore.
Not once have Israelis said "No!" to the dangerous concessions forced on them by their friend turned bully-pimp.
They release their captured enemies from prison to terrorize and kill again. They permit hundreds of terrorists and weapons free passage into Gaza to be used against them.
Their meek protests are now ignored by the no longer fair arbiter, and ridiculed.
And how not? When Israel is attacked, its leaders merely whimper and fire a few shells into empty fields and attack empty buildings.
Once in a while their missiles hit the terrorists, but those who hold Israel's leash tightly always restrain its response.
There are no longer any red lines.
Israel has steadfastly refused to defeat its enemies. Israelis have long ago tired of being the victors. Now they choose to become the defeated.
Israel permits a foreign superpower to trample its sovereignty, giving in without resistance and surrendering to a process that brings even greater dangers closer.
There is no peace to be had by those who chant "Death to the Jews!" and smuggle in ever-deadlier weapons.
Washington just turns its head and ignores the stated goal of Palestine: Israel's destruction. Millions of dollars in support flows continuously from the U.S. to the terrorists. It makes you wonder.
Israel talks tough but never acts on its promised harsh response. Israel knows that the Road Map is a farce and not worth the paper it's written on.
Yet the government of Israel goes along willingly and silently with this plan which rewards the terrorists for all their work.
Israel would appear to enjoy its pain and punishment. Why else throw fellow Jews out of their homes and surrender land to such an undeserving and unchanged enemy?
Israel, perhaps assuming that nations will take pity on its suffering, thus surrenders once again to another evil plan, with little more than a whimper and a sigh, and a silent invitation to its true enemies and false friends to inflict yet more pain.
