The Glorification of Death, the Irrelevance of Truth
By Stephen J. Kohn   August 1, 2006

There has never been as large a group that worships and condones civilian enemy deaths as the Muslim terrorists and their supporters. Death to enemies, including supposedly errant wives and daughters, and civilians, by any means from beheadings to suicide belts to hijacked planes slamming into buildings to planned nuclear weapons to setting their co-religionists up for Israeli weapons fired in innocence is more accepted than in any other culture.

There is no bias in the targets. Other Muslims are targets, from Sudan to Iraq to Solomon Rushdie -- they are equally vulnerable. And the locations of the targets are nearly universal --from Bali to New York to Buenos Aires to Moscow, and all points between.

Deaths of their own suicide bombers and soldiers with a promised quick trip to paradise is part of the military tactics they employ. The Iranians used a wall of Paradise-promised 10 year olds to explode Iraqi mines laid in the Iran Iraq war as they crossed the battlefield. Western fools who do not comprehend this death cult seem delusional and are not demonstrating their erudition by urging us to understand other cultures. The simplest among us can judge the basic wrongness in a philosophy based on the glorification of death.

In fact, news presentations show how the listener or reader is set up by the not so innocent dupes in the media. Consider the way deaths caused by Israeli or American forces are too frequently described by the news media. "The Israelis slaughtered 60 Lebanese children."

But when Muslim forces slay civilians, the grammar turns passive and we are told "Sixty Iraqis were killed in a market in Bagdad." Or "140 rockets were targeted on Kiryat Shmona." No hint is given as to identities of the Iranian-backed bomb designers or the team launching these instruments of death. Ignored also is the intentional targeting for death of the women and children behind whose aprons and overalls the killers hide as they return to the homes dotting the Lebanese hillsides and Gaza sand dunes where the rockets and launchers are stored.

Enlightened armies do not use the camouflage of their civilians to protect themselves. Is there no comprehension and curiosity as to why, whenever launching platforms and command and control centers are detected in Lebanon, sitting nearby are the soon to be wailing mothers and their children whose blood will be featured on the latest Aljazeera and BBC broadcast several hours later, their lives having been hijacked and destroyed by cynical terrorist leaders.

Every wise person knows that civilian deaths on either side of the firing line are a major Hezbollah or Hamas propaganda objective -- much more important than the direct military consequences. And only a fool can ignore this. And those who set targets are delighted to kill Israeli civilians (Christian, Moslem or Jewish) and equally delighted to see their own killed. In fact, it sometimes seems that the more decorative Muslim medals must be given for setting up some seeming massacres by the Israelis or Americans.

While taking no precautions to avoid slaying innocent civilians in Israel, the Muslim hysteria capitalizes on any failure Israel has in protecting enemy innocents. This protection of innocents is central to the Israeli code of military ethics. The debate in Israel has been why we send our children to battle with greater concern for "innocent enemy civilians" than our soldiers. We maintain that double standard because it is embedded in our more than 3000 year history.

In addition, the growing skepticism in the Israeli military, the blogosphere and even Lebanese Christian circles about what did happen in Qana may lead to the truth about some destructive act by murderers who would easily be willing to murder their own to fictionalize Israeli brutality. A few months ago, the Iranian president took away what we believed was a trump card in our view of his nuclear ambitions and our survival. He made it clear that the collateral deaths of Muslims in a nuclear attack on Israel would ensure his Moslem co-religionists an instant flight to paradise.

There are disturbing facts and images. There is the at least six hour difference in Qana between bombing and collapse. Films show launchers and terrorists fleeing into the attacked building. The same bodies were photographed time after time for several hours. Rigor mortis was present long before clinical expectation. Few bodies had signs of wounds and dust typical of this type of disaster. A pacifier was placed around an infant's neck several hours after its body was presented to ghoulish photographers. No men were killed at Qana. As horrible as the pictures are, they deserve a second look, to get at the truth.

Motives for murder? There were none for Israelis. There were many for the glorifiers of death.

How American journalism, particularly, which will insert "alleged" to protect the most obvious of criminals can write with 100% certainty of a supposed Israeli war crime minutes after its alleged commission without the slightest independent investigation, is incomprehensible. Unless the truth is irrelevant and the fabrication matches the objectives of the writer.

As with previous cases of fraudulent claims of Israeli massacres, the truth will be submerged under the slime of media and UN assertions of our guilt. And when truth emerges, its life will have a far shorter span. There are still 492,000 Google entries for "Jenin Massacre," which never happened. The truth is irrelevant.
